Helping Aboriginal Businesses & Organisations Win Grants and Tenders
Culturally Competent Support for Government Grants & Tenders
For over 30 years, Clayton Consulting WA’s founder, Priscilla Clayton has worked closely with Aboriginal businesses, community organisations, and leaders across Western Australia and, more recently, in Sydney. We understand the importance of trust, cultural safety, and getting the details right, especially when applying for competitive government funding or tenders.
We don’t just write, we listen, collaborate, and stand beside you to help secure opportunities that deliver impact for your business and your community.

Cultural Competence You Can Rely On
My name is Priscilla Clayton, and I founded Clayton Consulting WA. My commitment to supporting Aboriginal businesses and organisations spans 30 years.
Early in my career, I was appointed Coordinator of Bundiyarra Aboriginal Corporation in Geraldton, a role I proudly held for six years. During this time, we achieved significant outcomes together from stopping a tavern from being built next to the proposed Bundiyarra Aboriginal Community Centre, securing the funding to build that Centre, and establishing CDEP for 151 participants.
In recognition of my work, I was presented with the inaugural Reconciliation Award by the Geraldton NAIDOC Committee. This award acknowledges non-Aboriginal staff who have made a meaningful contribution to Aboriginal organisations in the region.
I later moved into government, leading the Social, Tourism and Aboriginal Economic Development team at the Mid West Development Commission for five years. From there, I joined CSIRO Astronomy and Space Science as the inaugural Regional Manager for the Australian SKA Pathfinder (ASKAP) project. Working closely with the Wajarri people, the Traditional Owners of the land where ASKAP is located in the Murchison region of Western Australia. I contributed to the early negotiations of the Indigenous Land Use Agreement (ILUA) in 2008 and and help lead the official opening of the Murchison Radio-astronomy Observatory. I made sure Wajarri culture was front and centre.
I also worked for the Western Australian Department of Aboriginal Affairs, Mid West - Gascoyne Region for a short stint.
My role has always been behind the scenes, listening carefully, advocating respectfully, and culturally grounded, high-quality work. That’s the same approach I bring to every Aboriginal business and organisation I work with today.
